How To Take Care Of A Puppy
by Luke Hicks
Dogs need affection and love from you or they will feel left out of the "pack". For example, take them for walks daily, or even twice. Also, don't keep them outside for long, unless if they have a dog friend in your neighbors back yard. If they don't they will feel like this:
How sad.
Untrained dogs are often punished for their improper behavior. Be the one to train your dog. You are the one who will need to know how to communicate with him. By communicate, I mean know when he has to use the bathroom.
Good books on how to take care of a dog includes A Well-Trained Dog by Deborah A. Jones, The Power of Positive Dog Training by Pat Miller, and, For Solving Dog Behavioral Problems, If Only They Could Speak, Dogs Behavin Much, all by Nicholas Dodman.g Badly, and The Dog Who Loved Too Much.
Puppies should be taken out at least once every two hours to "do their business" for about 3 min. (or within a half hour after eating or drinking) and guided to the same spot where they can smell where they have been before. Take your adult dog out for at least 4 times a day for about 6 minutes.
Dogs are most comfortable wearing a harness, not a collar, when they are out walking. Collars can choke and be painful and injure your dog. Harnesses have soft padding and the dog will want to walk.
Taking care of a puppy is hard. But if you follow these few steps it will be as easy as 1, 2, SQUIRREL!
